Advertising disclosure
How sorentis.online makes money, what that means for what you read, and exactly how commercial links are marked. Last updated 24 September 2026.
1. How this site is funded
sorentis.online is funded entirely by affiliate commission. When a reader follows a link marked “partner link” and then buys a subscription, the seller pays Central rbr s.r.o. a share of that sale.
You pay nothing extra. The price is identical whether you arrive through our link or type the seller’s address yourself. The commission is paid out of the seller’s own margin as a cost of acquiring a customer. There is no surcharge, no markup and no fee to you.
We carry no display advertising, no pop-ups, no sponsored articles and no paid placement.
2. How you can tell which links are commercial
Every commercial link on this site carries all four of the following. If a link does not have them, it is not a commercial link.
- A disclosure bar at the very top of the page, above the headline and above any promotional content, visible before you scroll.
- A disclosure box immediately after the headline, before the article begins.
- A visible “Partner link — advertisement” label directly beneath every button, including the one in the sidebar. Not a footnote, not a superscript, not hidden behind a tooltip.
- A note under every button stating that we earn a commission and that it costs you nothing extra.
In the HTML itself, every commercial link carries
rel="sponsored nofollow noopener". sponsored is the
attribute search engines define for paid links, nofollow tells them
not to pass ranking credit, and noopener is a security measure for
links that open a new tab. Our script re-applies those markers rather than
stripping them, and you can read it at
/js/site.js.
3. Who we have a commercial relationship with
At the time of writing, the only commercial relationship on this site is an affiliate arrangement covering TotalAV, reached through an affiliate network. That is the only product from which we earn anything.
Every other link on this site — to testing laboratories, agencies, documentation and reference sites — is editorial. We earn nothing from those, and they do not know we link to them.
4. What the commission does not buy
- It does not buy a conclusion. No advertiser sees an article before publication. None has any right of review, approval or veto.
- It does not buy silence. Our main article publicly removes and corrects eleven claims that previously flattered the advertised product, and it tells readers to check independent laboratories rather than the vendor’s summary of them.
- It does not buy a rating. We publish no scores or star ratings at all, so there is none to inflate.
- It does not vary by outcome. Our commission does not change with the tone of what we write.
5. The conflict we cannot remove
We would rather state this than pretend it away: we are paid when readers buy and not paid when they do not. That is a real incentive and no policy eliminates it.
What we do about it is structural rather than aspirational. We publish the things that cost us money: that the operating system you already own includes a malware scanner; that some of the bundle duplicates software you already have; that introductory prices renew higher; that a bundled VPN does not make you anonymous; and that for some readers the free baseline is enough. Those statements are in the article for the same reason this page exists.

6. Your data
Being funded by advertising does not mean being funded by your data. This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads no advertising pixel. Nothing is transmitted to any partner while you read; a partner learns of you only if and when you click, and then only what a normal web request carries. 7. Regulatory basis
This disclosure is made to meet the requirement that commercial communication be identifiable as such — Art. 6 of Directive 2000/31/EC on electronic commerce, as implemented in Czech law, and the prohibition on misleading omissions in Directive 2005/29/EC on unfair commercial practices, implemented in the Czech Act No. 634/1992 Coll. on consumer protection.
